Aston Villa preparing SHOCK MOVE for one of Tottenham's stars
Steven Gerrard knows he needs something to get the Villains from the hole they've put themselves in
Aston Villa haven't had a great start to their season. Despite hopes of a challenge for Europe League places for the Villains during pre-season, it has all gone horribly wrong in the first few matches for Steven Gerrard's team, who currently are sitting just one place away from dead-last Leicester City, having won just one of their first five fixtures. The manager knows that they need help, and that's why Villa are reported to be working a deal for Tottenham's Lucas Moura.
After living such iconic moments with the Spurs shirt as his last-minute game changer against Ajax in the semifinals of the 2019 Champions League, the Brazilian has been out of favour under Antonio Conte and could be made available if Tottenham secures the move for Leeds United's Daniel James.
With the North London side negotiating with Manchester United for a loan of the dynamic winger, that would make it possible for Moura to leave. In addition to making Philippe Coutinho's loan move permanent and adding five new players this summer, Gerrard is also considering adding Moura his sixth signing.
With mere hours on the clock, it would have to be a lightning quick move for the Brazilian, who has scored 38 goals and given 27 assists in 204 games since joining Tottenham Hotspur in 2018 from Paris Saint Germain.
