The announcing of signing and the confirmation of deals to secure the club's financial status has almost made everyone forget, but Barcelona still have a big problem inside their squad and that problem is called Frenkie de Jong.

It's been weeks since it became known that the situation for the Dutchman at the Camp Nou was "get a pay cut or get out", but little seems to have happened with that. Chelsea, who at one point looked to have the advantage to sign the midfielder have since withdrawn their interest and that leaves us exactly where we were in early July, with either a move to Manchester United or a decrease in wages being the only moves for De Jong.
However, now according to reports, Barcelona will make one more effort to get De Jong to leave the team or get in line in heated negotiations with the player's agents. The agent for De Jong, Ali Dursun, has arrived in Barcelona, according to the Spanish news outlet Sport, ahead of a crucial meeting with the Catalan club where they will attempt to reach a final decision on his future before the summer transfer window ends on September 1.
According to the reports, the Blaugrana club wants to get rid of the Dutchman, who is one of their highest earners, to make room on their salary bill for Jules Kounde, who they hope to be able to register after singing him for 50 million euros this summer.
De Jong, meanwhile, is believed to have made it clear that he wants to continue at the Camp Nou, but is unwilling to reduce his pay because he considers he has already given up a significant amount of his compensation as a result of the club's severe financial circumstances.

It could be key hours for Frenkie de Jong and his future, as the Dutchman remains steadfast in his decision to remain at Barcelona despite the 17 million euros he's owed in compensation and the club's repeated attempts to kick him out the door, which has earned him the support of many figures across football.
