Depay transfer reportedly IMMINENT as negotiations set to end soon
The Dutchman could be joining his next club very soon as sources call the deal ever closer to completition
Barcelona know they have to shift players, and two who are potentially in the chopping block are Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Memphis Depay. While the Gabon international will have to have his transfer negotiated by keen takers Chelsea, it's all looking a bit more easy for Depay.
A deal between Juventus and Barcelona for Memphis Depay is now getting closer. Although it was previously claimed that negotiations between Juve and Depay's team were stopped due to the player's deliberate delay in making a choice, it now appears that the deal is once again in the works. According to Italian journalist Romeo Agresti, the transfer is imminent because the parties are just about to come to an understanding about the personal terms for the Dutch forward. From an economic perspective, the personal terms are almost finished.
Another source claiming the deal is very close to happening is transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who also commented that the Bianconeri and Depay are nearing a deal. According to Romano, there was positive contact during the week for a move, and a two-year deal is already on the table for the Dutchman, so the negotiations are moving forward.
It's worth pointing out that this may throw a spanner in the works for Chelsea and their deal for Aubameyang, as it was reported by several source that Barcelona would consider letting one of the two go, but not both. "I'm counting on Pierre Aubameyang. I'm really delighted with him, he can help us. Those I am not counting on already know, they know won't play. Between now and August 31, different things can happen", commented Xavi recently, also making it clear he's happy to keep the former Arsenal man in his squad.
