The Catalan giants get some bad news as one of their potential deals collapsed at the eleventh hour
One of Barcelona's biggest cards to reduce their wage costs and register Jules Koundé may have just been turned down. A few weeks back it came through that the Catalan giants still needed some further trimming of their expenses, which they considered could be done by the sale of either Pierre Emerick Aubameyang or Memphis Depay. Well, it may be Auba or nothing, cause the Dutchman could be going nowhere.

It was very recently that Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández made comments about how happy he was that Aubameyang was part of his squad, even while knowing fully that he could lose the Gabon international. Barcelona needed to shift of either the former Arsenal man or Memphis Depay as part of a move to secure funds to register their remaining signings, with the Gabonese chased by Chelsea while the Dutchman was in the sights of Juventus.
Now, however, it's looking like Aubameyang is the only one with a potential future outside the Camp Nou, as due to Memphis Depay's high salary demands, Juventus decided not to sign him.
The striker had agreed terms with Barcelona to be released of his deal and part ways should an interesting offer appear and he looked ready to join the Bianconeri. Both parties made good headway in the negotiations, and he was allegedly close to agreeing to a two-year contract.
The deal has since collapsed, however, as Juve determined that the Dutchman's salary demands (reportedly around 7 million euros per year) were too excessive. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio is now claiming that they are abandoning their interest in Depay and signing Marseille's Arkadiusz Milik on a loan basis.

It's not the end of the road for Memphis Depay, who reportedly still has offers from Manchester United and Tottenham, but should neither of those tempt him, he may as well decide to go back on his agreement to void his deal with Barcelona which will represent a huge blow for the Spanish club.
