"No intensity, no tactics, no ideas before Xavi": Ex-Barça DESTROYED this former coach
This former Barcelona player was clear with what he though of this former manager he had at the Camp Nou
It's not rare for players and managers to open up about the behind the scenes after they leave a club, but Miralem Pjanic has gone even further than that. The Bosnian international left FC Barcelona for Sharjah FC in the UAE this summer, but he didn't forget about one of his former managers with the Blaugranas and he destroyed him.
Pjanic first arrived in Barcelona from Juventus for 60 million euros, part of the deals that took Arthur Melo to the Bianconeri. There he found recently appointed manager Ronald Koeman in the midst of one of the hardest seasons for Barça, but the Bosnian doesn't exactly hold a great memory of the Dutchman as he explained during a recent interview with SER Catalunya radio station.
"I was very surprised when I saw the training sessions with Koeman. They were without intensity, without tactics, without ideas", fired the former AS Roma and Juventus player, "The matches were not prepared for". While some differences were to be expected given how much time Pjanic spent in the bench under Koeman, he did not spare any punches for the former Ajax manager.
The arrival of Xavi Hernandez completely changed things according to Pjanic: "Now I have seen a good, very good preparation, as I did at Juventus, where we won everything. Now they are very intense training sessions and the coach and his staff were very clear with us: 'This year he is going to run, he is going to to train hard'. Even those who don't play have very intense training. You work very well".
Pjanic also singled out Pedri and Gavi, two young Barcelona midfielders, during the conversation. "[Pedri] is a fantastic athlete. I believe Barça has a phenomenal midfielder for the next ten years", he pointed out, while addingthe Andalusian "is still very young and his talent speaks for itself on the field".
