Batistuta had enough and DESTROYED Antonio Cassano: "I'm sorry for him"
The Italian wasn't kind while remembering their time together as AS Roma and the Argentine fired back
Gabriel Omar Batistuta did not hesitate to answer harshly to his former partner Antonio Cassano, known for his sharp tongue when talking about things from the past or stars of the present. Cassano, who coincided with Batistuta at AS Roma during the 2001-02 season, had said that Batistuta was "stingy" and not only that, but he also tried to leave the image of an inconsiderate star on the part of the Argentine striker.

"It was horrible when I was with Batistuta and Marco Delvecchio in Rome. Batistuta in a particular way because when he arrived at [AS Roma training centre at] Trigoria he did not pay for a coffee or greet any waiter. This was at a time when he earned ten million euros per year" said Cassano, with an evident intention to smear the Argentine attacker who wore the Roma shirt between 2000 and 2002.
Not only did he blast Batistuta, Cassano also remembered his idol and another former teammate, Francesco Totti: "I went to Roma for him. I chose Roma instead of Juventus for Totti. I loved playing with him. I had a wonderful relationship. After two years, when I was 20, I had a fight and told him to go to hell. A friend of mine, who I trusted, told me 'Francesco won 100 thousand euros and you took 10 thousand'".

Now the answer has come, at least from Batistuta, who gave an interview for the newspaper La Nazione. "Being considered unpleasant by Cassano seems like a nice thing to me", pointed out the Argentine, who then spoke of Cassano's unprofessionalism. "I'll tell you something: as soon as he arrived in Rome I saw him bewildered, he couldn't get settled, I spoke with my wife, we took him home and now to hear him talk like that. I'm very sorry. I'm sorry for him. He didn't take advantage of the opportunity that football gave him to grow as a person".
