"I have different offers and options": Eriksen eyeing return to top leagues
The Danish midfielder has been looking at where his future could lie
Just over a year ago, Christian Eriksen had us all unable to move away from the TV screen. That time, however, it wasn't a marvellous goal or inbelievable assists, but the fear that his life could be at risk as he collapsed on the field during an Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland.
Thankfully, the Danish midfielder recovered and, against most predictions and showing incredible courage, he returned to professional football, playing six months with Premier League side Brentford.
Now, however, it seems Eriksen is eyeing a return to the top of the sport. Despite Brentford's best efforts, the Dane has rejected their offer to extended his deal, and will instead listen to propositions from other, bigger, clubs.
"I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision", he said in an interview for European streaming service Viaplay. "I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn't essential for me".
For now, it seems Eriksen will remain in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Tottenham being the biggest candidates to secure the services of the midfielder. Eriksen played for Tottenham before joining Inter, playing 304 matches for the Lilywhites, scoring 69 goals and giving 90 assists.
