The day has finally come. For too long the mystery of who would be the next Paris Saint Germain manager was hanging in the air, and even when a name emerged as the leading candidate for the job, the confirmation was delayed more than once as the issue of Mauricio Pochettino's sacking got stretched in time. Now, it's official:  Christophe Galtier is the next PSG manager.

The former Lille and OGC Nice manager signed a deal until 2024 with the Parisian club, giving him two years to make his mark at a seat where many others have failed. "Campos' presence was decisive", claimed Galtier. "I accepted Paris Saint-Germain job with lot of humility but with great determination"

The new PSG manager was also very clear on what's next for one of his most questioned stars, Brazilian forward Neymar, who was reportedly been told by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to find new club. For Galtier, the former Barça man will be a key of his team: "I want Neymar to stay here with us. He's kind of world class player, all the managers in the world want top players like him".

It's not an unexpected declaration, considering it had broken up before that the French manager intented to keep the Brazilian with him. "I've already clear ideas on my plan for Neymar here at PSG", Galtier explained.

A journeyman as a footballer, Christophe Galtier's career as a manager started in 2009, when he took over from Alain Perrin at Saint Etienne. He stayed for eight years in Les Verts, winning the Coupe de la Ligue in 2012-13 before taking over Lille in 2017. With Les Dogues he'd take his only Ligue 1 title in 2020-21, and would then depart to OGC Nice. Now, he takes on the biggest challenge of his managing career at Paris Saint Germain.
