GOING NOWHERE: Ronaldo won't leave home... as he drops out of Asian Tour

The Portuguese star won't join his teammates on pre-season, and rumours are becoming more damning

 Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants to leave Manchester United on good terms, refusing to go "full Lewandowski" and starting a war of words with the higher ups at his club. Despite that, he's not making it easy for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese forward was missing practices as he alledged "personal issues" that kept him away from the pitch. However, as rumours around his departure grew, many felt he was simply stalling, waiting for the right call to make the move and not staying true to his desire to leave on good terms, but rather putting pressure on the club, and encouraging his potential suitors.

Now, Manchester United's hand has been forced even harder, as it has been confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo won't travel with the rest of the squad to Bangkok, in Thailand, where the Red Devils kickstart their three match Asian Tour.

Once again, the explanation is all about CR7 and personal issues with his family, but it will certainly hurt Manchester United's bargaining position that their star is far off from the rest of the team.

As for where Ronaldo might end up, recently FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted to have conducted a meeting with the Portuguese player's agent, Jorge Mendes. It would be a strange move, as Ronaldo is very much a modern Real Madrid legend, but stranger things have happened.

Much in the same way, Bayern Munich higher ups confirmed the player was offered to them, but have since rejected the offer on "club philosophy" problems. The only other option so far has been Chelsea, with Todd Boehly reportedly interested in making such a marquee signing, but with Thomas Tuchel much more interested in that signing being PSG's Neymar.
