RE-UNITED? Cristiano Ronaldo could be the target of his former managers
The Portuguese star is said to be disgruntled at Manchester United, and rumours of his potential exit keep appearing
"Where he goes, the news are" once said World Cup winning coach Carlos Bilardo of Diego Maradona, and such is the case with many of todays top stars. One of the biggest of them all goes by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo, and news certainly follow him around.
With words of the Portuguese star being disgruntled at Manchester United, the rumour mill is going into overdrive and different clubs and chances appear as potential destinations for the former Real Madrid man. With rumours of a Bayern Munich move quickly shot down, now another option has appeared: AS Roma.
The Giallorossi are currently led by one of CR7's former managers, Portuguese José Mourinho, and according to former Roma player Angelo Di Livio, negotiations are underway to re-unite two of the most important figures in Portugal football history.
"From what I have learned in the last few days, Roma are really trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo and July 7 could be the date of Cristiano's announcement for the Giallorossi", claimed Di Livio on Italian radio network Retesport.
It would be a true statement of intent by AS Roma, although many suspect there could be nothing behind it, given how badly the Cristiano Ronaldo - Jose Mourinho relationship was at the end of the former Chelsea manager's stint at Real Madrid. However, both men have expressed nothing but admiration for one another since then.
