160 MILLION: The CRAZY deal Ronaldo's agent is building to leave United
The Portuguese star's agent is one of the most influential men in football, but even he may be over exceeding himself here
Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United, and his agent Jorge Mendes is looking at every way possible to do so, even if that means concocting one of the craziest plans in recent times. This time, the destination would be Napoli and the operation a swap deal.
At least, that's what journalist Valter de Maggio from Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli is reporting. According to the Italian reporter, Mendes is looking to convince Napoli and Manchester United to take part in what would be one of the most amazing deals ever done in football.
The key piece? Victor Osimhen. The idea would be for the 23 year old Nigerian striker to make his way to Old Trafford, with Cristiano Ronaldo and a fee (which would help the Italian club cover his wages) coming the other way. How much does Napoli want to let Osimhen leave? 130 million euros.
That's what would be necessary to take Cristiano Ronaldo to Napoli, and while the talks are just starting, reports say that Gli Azzurri and their president Aurelio de Laurentiis would not be against the deal going through, provided they can resolve the issues regarding the financial concerns of Ronaldo's wages. Another problem could be the image rights issue, which previously prevented Napoli from dealing the decisive blow in their chase of Argentine star Paulo Dybala.
With Cristiano Ronaldo currently valued at 30 million euros as per Transfermarkt, with the fee that would make the total package for Victor Osimhen (who scored 18 goals in 32 matches last season) at a value of around 160 million, making him the 3rd most expensive player ever, should the deal go through.
