MADNESS: Premier League side to offer 100 million euros for Darwin Nuñez
The Uruguayan striker has more suitors every day, and Benfica look to profit from the talent they've developed
How much does Darwin Nuñez cost? Well, Benfica has been very clear: as much as 100 million euros. The Portuguese club, experts in developing youngsters, know how to extract the most out of their players first experience in European football and then selling them at very high prices, and they are doing it again.
This time, they don't even have to work, they can sit back and choose the ideal candidate. That's because Nuñez has several suitors. While it seemed a while ago that Manchester United had the deal in the bag, first Newcastle United joined the chase and now another Premier League club seems to be after the Uruguayan.

That is Liverpool FC. The team coached by the German Jurgen Klopp wants to strengthen their front line as it's likely they will lose Sadio Mané and now it seems they're targeting Nuñez. Portuguese newspaper Record reports that Benfica will ask Liverpool for the sum of 100 million euros if they decide go after Darwin Nuñez.
"Liverpool have been told that a club record fee of around £85m (about €100m) will be needed to sign Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez. Benfica will be looking to sell high if they lose him and seek 100 million euros for the player they signed from Almería of Spain for 24 million euros in 2020. Almería will receive 20 percent of any profit that Benfica makes on the transfer", Record reports.
They add from England that "The Anfield club has not made an offer at this time and will continue to look at other objectives, but the possibility of moving to Merseyside and working with Klopp would please Nuñez". On the other hand, Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda has reported that the offer would be of 80 million euros plus another 20 in addons.

Nuñez is now with the Uruguayan national team, he will begin his vacations and then in July or August his immediate future could be decided.
