"He'll turn it around": The Uruguay LEGEND who's backing Darwin Núñez
One of his most famous countrymen spoke about the Uruguayan's red card against Crystal Palace
Darwin Núñez has had a controversial start to his life at the Premier League. Liverpool paid an absolute fortune for him, but so far his performances have been irregular, and his red card for headbutting a rival in the match against Crystal Palace did very little to help. While the whole Anfield squad came out in support of him, including the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Jurgen Klopp, the Uruguayan also got some support from someone closer to home.
Despite living his own fair shair of controversies, Luis Suárez is a Liverpool icon in his own right. The Pistolero is enjoying his return to childhood club Nacional, but took some time to speak about the situation Núñez is going through.
"I talked to him because he is just starting out, and I wanted to make him aware that from now on [opposition players] will be seeking him out twice or three times more often. Even more so in England", Suarez told TV network Telemundo.
"He's hearing this from an idiot who made mistakes and suffered for them, but falling down and getting up again made me stronger. Don't give them any more chances, it'll only get worse", explained Suárez, who had his fair shair of controversies during his time in England, incluiding his racial abuse incident with Patrice Evra and his ten match ban following the biting of Branislav Ivanovic.
However, Luis Suárez made it clear he thinks Darwin Núñez will take no time to show his worth at Anfield, despite the English press blowing things out of proportion: "He is very smart that way and I think he will try to turn this situation around. It's not a big deal, we have all made mistakes, we have all been sent off. The problem is that he's only just arrived over there and in England, to put it lightly, they make a big deal out of everything".
