Darwin Nuñez: Why you shouldn't criticize him
Nuñez made a mistake, but everyone should remember some things
Darwin Nuñez was harshly criticized after his mistake in the last match against Crystal Palace, where he gave a headbutt to Palace defender Joachim Andersen during the second half, while the Reds were losing 1-0.
Fortunately for Liverpool and the striker, Luis Diaz saved the night as he scored the equalizer four minutes later. But that was not enough to make fans understand the Uruguayan reaction.
Having drawn the first two matches against a mid-table team and a recently promoted one made Nuñez's mistake more visible as Liverpool can't manage to win in this new Premier League.
But there is one thing critical supporters need to remember: Even good players make mistakes. As every one of us, they are humans and can take bad decisions.
Also, we must remember that the player is coming to a new country where he doesn't even speak the language. He showed his quality during pre-season, so the potential is there. Not making it explode the first two matches is absolutely normal for a young lad in a new team.
As it was not enough, the Reds player apologized on his social media: "I am aware of the ugly attitude I had," he wrote on Twitter. I'm here to learn from my mistakes and it won't happen again. Apologies to Liverpool all, I'll be back" wrote the 23-year-old.
