Di María remains mysterious about his future: "We know how football works"
PSG and Argentina forward Ángel Di María spoke with Argentinian radio Urbana Play FM and talked about winning the Copa América, the upcoming World Cup, his relationship with Maradona and more. However, he remained mysterious about his future.
PSG and Argentina forward Ángel Di María is one of the best in the business right now. His goal in the 2021 Copa América final is likely to remain imprinted in the eyes of every Argentina fan as the Albiceleste lifted a major trophy for the first time in 28 years.
Di María is also going through a great moment with his club Paris Saint Germain, with the Parisian club winning yet another Ligue 1 title. However, it would seem that Di María may not be a PSG player for much longer.
"My idea is to stay another year in Europe and then return to Argentina. But we already know how football is. We have to take it year by year and see how it goes", he pointed out in the interview. "My contract ends in June, I don't know if the club wants it to happen. There is an option for one more season - it remains to be seen whether PSG will activate it".
Should the French club no longer require his services, it seems the Argentinian is open to new opportunities. He said on the matter: "If [PSG doesn't activate the clause], I'll try to find an opportunity in Europe".
Di María joined PSG in 2015 after a disastrous season with Manchester United and has so far scored 90 goals in 293 appearances with the Parisian club, winning five league titles and reaching the Champions League final in 2019/20.
