Despite having lost the Champions League semifinals and showing some weakness in the key moments, Manchester City made history because closing the biggest transfer in Premier League recent history. The club was said to have reached an agreement with Erling Haaland, who would leave Borussia Dortmund and sign with the Citizens. Raiola's death didn't change anything and the deal seemed set in stone.
The English club even confirmed it through a statement on its official website and through its social networks. "Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on 1st July 2022", the club explained.

Asked about Haaland, Solbakken remarked: "I don't think you should expect me to talk about Manchester City or any other club at a Norwegian national team conference. City? They haven't introduced him yet, we'll see what happens".
