"Okay, fine": Guardiola's HILARIOUS reaction to Haaland signing
The Spanish coach has now one of the best strikers in the world at his disposal, but he didn't go mad ove the news
The signing of Erling Haaland by Manchester City was one of the biggest in the last transfer window. Despite costing the Citizens "just" the £54 million in the Norwegian's release clause from his Borussia Dortmund contract, the move was predicted to be one of the most important of the season, and it has certainly proved so early on with the 22 year old striker already on 12 goals across all competitions for the Sky Blues.
However, someone wasn't very impressed when the signing was communicated to him, and that seems to be Pep Guardiola. The Spanish coach has seen a lot of talent come and go since arriving at City in 2015, but you would think even he would be happy to hear one of the worlds best was joining his squad. And yet, when questioned how he took the news, the two-time Champions League winner admited it was rather coy.

Asked what was his reaction when Manchester City sporting director Txiki Begiristain told him they had sealed the Norwegian, Guardiola was open about it: "Txiki [Begiristain] talked to me and it was a two-second conversation: 'Okay, fine'". A very amused Pep then asked the journalist what would have been his reaction: "What would you say? We had an incredible striker in Gabriel Jesus. But we had the chance to bring [Haaland] here so why not?" .
With many hypothesizing that Manchester City would have won the Champions League last season if they had a player like Haaland, Guardiola was then inquired on whether he believed that the Norwegian was such player: "I don't know. I'm not able to know it. He's playing really well, the team is playing really well, but I don't know [if he'll be differential]".

Despite Pep Guardiola's words, Erling Haaland seems to be enjoying his time under the Spanish coach. "He's a football fanatic just like I am", Haaland recently told in an interview, "We both love football. He was a player and now he's a coach, and he's crazy about football. That's something I like a lot because he thinks about everything and how we can improve".
