Winning always attract interest; it's the curse of middle sized clubs, success will always paint a target on their back. We've seen it many times: Leicester City in 2015, with Monaco in 2017, with Ajax in 2019. Now, it could be the newly crowned Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt that suffer the same fate.
Not yet 24 hours have passed since the German side beat Scottish giants Rangers on penalties to lift Europe's second most coveted trophy that already the vultures start to circle them. In this occasion, however, it's looking like they're actually being circled by magpies.
As reported by journalist Ignazio Genuardi, Newcastle United are chasing Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka. Allegedly, scouts from the Premier League club were seen at the final yesterday, following with close eyes the French defender.
The former Auxerre man is 22 years old and has just one year remaining on his contract. Eintracht has apparently set the price tag at 20 million euros, although it remains to be seen if the allure of playing Champions League football nexts season isn't enough to keep him in Germany.
Ndicka arrived at Frankfurt from French side Auxerre in 2018 and has so far featured in 139 matches for the German side.
