NOT YET: Differences between United and Barça over De Jong STILL unresolved
The negotiation over the Dutch midfielder has hit another impass as there is some ground to cover with the fee
By now, everyone knows that Barcelona needs to sell in order to buy, and that puts the Catalan club at a disadvantage when negotiating for their players. At least that is what it seems to be happening with Manchester United's signing of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

With the last news to come up showing that something was working underneath the surface, as De Jong cleared his locker at the Barça training complex, the word on the outside is that there are still some differences to be settled.
In concrete, there seems to be a 10 million euros gap to bridge, as reported by Spanish newspaper Marca. According to their information, Barcelona wants a minimum floor of 75 million euros for the transfer to go ahead, while Manchester United are offering 65 million and addons.
Barça president Joan Laporta is reportedly aware that the Red Devils are tightening the screws, using their situation to their advantage to get a better price, but the Catalan giants aren't in a rush, as they would still need to move more players to reach the necessary wage bill figures to register new players, meaning De Jong is not the key to the issue, but rather a part of it.
Barcelona president knows there is still a long way to go
With Frenkie De Jong still silent on whether he's actually interested in the move, and often making it clear he's happy to remain at Barcelona, it may be a long time before that 10 million euros gap is closed.
