Gabriel Jesus agent: "We had talks with Arsenal"
The agent of the Brazilian star claims to "be discussing" the possibility of the player joining Arsenal for coming season
Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus could be living his last days a Manchester City striker. While interest from other clubs, from the Premier League and elsewhere, was always present, it could be that the arrival of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland speeds up the former Palmeiras' player departure from the Etihad Stadium. Today journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Marcelo Pettinati is supposedly dicussing the possibility of a move to Arsenal.
"We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project - it's a possibility we're discussing", Pettinati told the journalist. "There are 6 more clubs interested in Gabriel - he's focused on final games with Man City, we'll see".
The Brazilian striker joined Manchester City from Sao Paulo club Palmeiras in 2016, and has scored 95 goals in 234 matches for the English side. Should he join Arsenal, he'd be once again working next to Mikel Arteta, who was Assistant Manager to Guardiola between 2016 and 2019. With the Gunners seemingly on the right path to a return to the UEFA Champions League, it could be smart move for Gabriel Jesus, who would undoubtedly sit behind Haaland in the pecking order at City next season.
Arteta wouldn't be the only familiar face at Arsenal for the Brazilian, as the Gunners also employ former Brazilian national team general coordinator Edu Gaspar, who's said to be one of the main forces behind the potential move.
