"I believe 100 per cent": New Arsenal signing LOVES his new club
Arsenal have just shocked the market with one of their best signings in a while
Arsenal have just announced one of the biggest signings of the summer. The club managed by Mikel Arteta have made it official: Gabriel Jesus is a Gunner. The signing has been in the works for a long time, as negotiations were tight and hard to untangle, but it's finally done.
Without a doubt, one of the deciding factors in Gabriel Jesus deciding to join the North London club was the role of the Spanish coach, who previously worked with him during his time as assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. "[Arteta and I] spoke a couple of times about the club, the players, the project and the future. I believe 100 per cent in Mikel", said the Brazilian. "I had a very good time with him before, he's a very good guy and a very good coach as well. He's a very intelligent guy and was an amazing player, so if he knows something he can teach me or the young players."
The former Palmeiras wonderkid also revealed that playing for the club was one of his dreams when he was young, thanks to one of the Gunners' most incredible players: "I followed Arsenal when I was young because of [Thierry] Henry", Jesus added. "Obviously I didn't follow too many European teams but when I saw some of the players that played here, I was like 'wow, this club is big'. When I played against Arsenal I was looking at the Emirates and it was a very good stadium, so I'm very excited to play here".
Gabriel Jesus won't be alone at Arsenal, as a growing group of Brazilian players will be there to welcome him, not doubt part of Sporting Director Edu Gaspar's influence. In fact, the former Manchester City player will be Arsenal's third Brazilian Gabriel, with forward Gabriel Martinelli and centreback Gabriel Magalhaes also playing for the Gunners, as well as recently arrived Marquinhos.
On this matter, Gabriel Jesus was very clear: "I know some players, the Brazilian ones. I know there are a lot of top players. They are young and I'm still young as well, so I am so happy to be here to help. I come to help, to learn as well and to try to do my best".
The signing of Gabriel Jesus was praised by one of Arsenal's best ever players, and his signing is sure to revitalize and attack that was fluent but often lacked some spark at the final third. For his part, Gabriel Jesus has scored 95 goals and given 46 assists in 233 appeareances for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
