Gabriel Jesus is the new star of Arsenal of England and one of the strikers who will represent Brazil in the next FIFA World Cup 2022. However, not many know his story of overcoming, since Gabriel was born in a family of low means.
When the striker joined Manchester City in 2016, an image of him went viral. In that image, he was seen painting the streets during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He was the one who posted that image on his Twitter account. In that World Cup, he was 17 years old and was not a professional. However, 3 years later he was already a Manchester City player, a team with which he would win 11 titles and score almost 100 goals.

Gabriel Jesus was born on April 3, 1997 in Sao Paulo (Brazil). He grew up in the Jardim Peri neighborhood, located in the north of Sao Paulo, and from an early age, he proved to be passionate about football, especially street football. Back then, he played as a central midfielder, not a striker.
However, Gabriel Jesus' idol, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima, inspired him to become a goalscorer. At the age of 9, he started at the Club Pequeninos football school, where from the first training, he showed that he was different, he was a talented player. Most of the boys were low-income and playing in that club was an opportunity to take advantage of the food they were given after playing. But José Francisco Mamede, the team's coach, was the first to realize that Gabriel Jesus was not there for the food, but to play. He was the best in his category and the most responsible of all, he never missed training. In addition, he always showed his determination to become a professional and represent the Brazilian national team.

At the age of 14, young Gabriel Jesus was forced to leave the Pequeninos club and began playing in the city's teenage leagues where he was quickly chosen by a scout to try out for Palmeiras. Gabriel Jesus eventually joined the club's youth teams, but quickly made it into the first team and thus signed his first professional contract. He made his debut in 2015 when he was 18 years old. That season he played a total of 37 games (between all competitions) and scored 7 goals, helping his team to win the Brasil Cup. The following year, he scored 21 goals in 46 games and won the long-awaited "Brasileirao", a title that Palmeiras had not won since 1994.

After winning the Brazilian league, Gabriel received a call from Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City. After a few minutes of talking about football, he decided that his next destination would be Manchester. Finally, the English team paid Palmeiras 36 million dollars and Gabriel Jesus said goodbye to the club in tears, while in the stands the team's fans sang a song they invented for him: "Glory, glory, hallelujah... it's Gabriel Jesus".
