Real Madrid looking to sign MLS wonderkid goalkeeper
The Merengue club keep looking for options after their failure to sign Mbappe
Real Madrid has money available and everyone knows it. With the budget they had for their star signing of the season now all sitting in the back, the Merengue club are looking for other ways to improve their already Europe-conquering squad. Now, apparently, their latest objetive is MLS star Gabriel Slonina
After rumours that they're chasing one of Monaco's wonderkids and others saying they could be willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a Serie A star, now it looks like the young USMNT goalkeeper could be in the sights of Florentino Perez.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are after the Chicago Fire goalkeeper, who's just turned 18 years old but a few weeks ago. With Thibaut Courtois playing a historic match in the UEFA Champions League final, it seems unlikely that will challenge for the starting goalie spot any time soon, but rather that he'll be an understudy to the big Belgian.
As pointed out by the journalist, Chicago Fire are expecting offers, as the player is also in the transfer lists of Bayern Munich and Chelsea. It was actually the Blues who were closest to making the deal, before their war-related bans were put in place. Now, it's looking like Slonina's future is closer to Madrid than London.
Gabriel Slonina played 13 matches for Chicago Fire this season, keeping 5 clean sheets, and is looked upon as one of the greatest latest prospects from the USA league.
