Guardiola SHOCKED everyone comparing Haaland's to these LEGENDS
The Spanish boss was asked about the Norwegian's objetives for this season and put the striker with some decent company
Pep Guardiola just put Erling Haaland with some pretty decent company. The Spanish coach is enjoying a big start to the season by the Norwegian, who is currently on pace to break just about every Premier League scoring record there is. With many rumours and information coming out about a potential release clause in the former Borussia Dortmund man's deal, Guardiola was asked about Haaland's mood, and his answer was incredible.
After a mute game against Liverpool, the man they want to kick out of Britain due to "being a robot" went back to scoring ways in Manchester City's last fixture. Erling Haaland put two more down against Brighton and Hove Albion, taking his scoring records to 17 goals in 11 games in the Premier League.
In this context, Sky Blues boss Pep Guardiola was asked about the Norwegian's ambitions for this season, and his answer speaks volumes: "I haven't talked to Haaland. I think he's happy when the team wins. But all the strikers I have seen in my career like Samuel Eto'o, David Villa, Lionel Messi, [Robert] Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Sergio Aguero - they have incredible ambition to score goals. It's normal and it has to be like that".
That's some pretty legendary company that the two-time Champions League winner has put his player with. But it's not an otherwordly comparison. A recent graph made by the Premier League shows just how incredible Erling Haaland's performances have been, proving Guardiola right.
