The SHOCKING reason Hazard could be KICKED OUT of the World Cup squad
The Belgium star isn't in his best form, but he's also pushing his luck with his behaviour
The Qatar 2022 World Cup is just around the corner now, but will Eden Hazard feature in it for Belgium? That might've sounded ridiculous a few years ago, but it is now a very posible that arguably the greatest Belgium player of all time could miss out what could be his last World Cup.
Hazard is going through a very difficult time in his career. Not only he's struggling to get play time at Real Madrid, where boss Carlo Ancelotti has him way down his pecking order due to his lack of fitness, but he could lose his spot at the Belgium National Team if he's not careful.
Following the publication of photos showing him in a nightclub just before Belgium's match against the Netherlands, national team coach Roberto Martinez is furious with Hazard. The forward was seen having a late-night party two days before the team's UEFA Nations League commitment, which they ultimately lost 1-0. In response, Martinez said he didn't want to see his player act in such a way again.
"Eden has an important role to play within the team, as a person but also as captain", Martinez told Belgium TV channel RTBF. "We trust our players, and he was allowed to spend time with his family or with his friends. There is a very clear story behind this, but I am not going to talk about it in public".
The Spanish coach insisted that he hoped there won't be any more incidents, and that there will be consequences for the player: "It will be handled internally. I would not like to see this repeated". Regardless, it could very much be the case that if Eden Hazard continues to combine his poor form at club level with these episodes of indiscipline that Martinez will ponder if he deserves his spot with Belgium at Qatar 2022.
