Not HIM again: James just arrived at Olympiakos and he gets the worst news
The Colombian has barely made acquaintance of his new home, but he's already set to receive some bad news
James Rodríguez's debut at Olympiacos could not have been worse. It had nothing to do with the Colombian or his performance because he played 70 minutes at a good level of football and showed that with rhythm he can be important in the Greek team. However, with just 20 minutes remaining in the match, manager Carlos Corberán took him off while his side were beating Aris Thessaloniki 1-0. Incredibly, in those 20 minutes, their rivals came from behind to score two goals, and Olympiacos lost 2-1.
After the game, the team board decided to dismiss Corberán. It was the Spanish coach who had given the green light to the arrival of James Rodríguez and now everything could change for worse for the Colombian because the Olympiacos board's top target for the job is Rafa Benítez.
The former Valencia and Liverpool manager coached James Rodríguez at Real Madrid and Everton, and the relationship between the two is not the best. In the Merengue team, James struggled under Benítez and once at Everton, the relationship ended up detonating because the Spaniard removed him from the team and he had to leave the club.

On more than one occasion, Rafa Benítez criticised James Rodríguez at press conferences for his attitudes on the pitch and, above all, for his physical condition: "James was an easy and complicated subject at the same time. This is Everton, the Premier League and we need intensity from game one to the last. So when you have a player who only plays you 50% of the games, it's kind of hard to handle. He wasn't in the best physical condition".
After never playing for Everton, James ended up at Al Rayyan, but now he could clash with Rafa Benitez once again at Olympiacos. The Spanish coach is not the only one who is in the race and competes with Laurent Blanc, although he is the main target.
