Chelsea preparing NEW OFFER for Koundé as Barça asks for PATIENCE
The Frenchman could go either way as his future remains unresolved
Chelsea and Barcelona have been fighting over who gets the signing of Sevilla's Jules Koundé for as long as the market as been going on. Despite both looking for options elsewhere and tackling the issues that prevented them from moving for the young Frenchman, the question is still in the air.
At least, that used to be case as Chelsea are reportedly preparing a new move for the former Girondins Bordeaux man. According to Spanish newspaper AS, Koundé has already agreed terms with Barcelona, but he's aware that the Catalan club might have problems getting the deal across the line.
Aware of this difficulty, and fresh of a face off with Joan Laporta in Barcelona, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is reportedly preparing a new bid for Koundé, to convince him that despite the Blues' interest in other centrebacks (like Nathan Aké and Matthjis de Ligt), they want him and Stamford Bridge is the place to take his career to the next level.
According to AS, there has been a meeting between Boehly and Portugese super agent Jorge Mendes, who has worked at times with Sevilla and could work as an intermediary to get the deal done in favour of the English club.
Jules Koundé is one of the best defenders in the world, currently valued at 60 million euros, and known for his passing game and his strenght in the aerial game, an asset more than important for the English game.
