CHIELLINI'S HEIR? Juventus eyeing up a KEY reinforcement in defence
The Italian giants want one of the top players from Serie A to rule their defence
Juventus have been one of the most active clubs in this transfer window, on both sides of the table. The sales of Mandragora and Demiral and the releases of Chiellini, Bernardeschi and Dybala will be balanced with the soon to be announced additions of Paul Pogba and Angel di María. However, with the rumour going that Matthjis de Ligt could be on the move very soon, it's clear La Vecchia Signora will need some help at the back, and it looks like they've already eyed the perfect addtion: Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegalese has established himself as one of the world's top centrebacks since arriving at Napoli all the way back in 2014, and there hasn't been a summer where he wasn't linked with moves away to any number of top European clubs. However, this time the move could be actually happening.
According to several sources in Italian football, there has been a meeting between Juventus Sporting Director Federico Cherubini and Koulibaly's agent, Fali Ramadani. The Senegalese has his contract expiring in just one year time, and despite him being a key part of Luciano Spalletti's team, Juve are ready to swoop in if there's any doubt in Koulibaly's mind.
While some argue Koulibaly, who has shown remarkable loyalty to Napoli and the city of Naples, would prefer a move away from Italy if he was to depart the Gli Azzurri, Juventus have him as their main target for the defence, and will try their best to tempt him on a move to the north of Italy.
Kalidou Koulibaly has played 317 matches for Napoli since joining them in 2014 for just 7.75 million euros from Belgian outfit Genk. In that time, he's shown himself as one of Europe premiere defenders, know for his aerial dominance as well as his skill with the ball at his feet.
