BENZEMA ON MBAPPE: "This is not the time to talk about those little things"
The Real Madrid legend refused to get further embroiled in the war of words after his countryman chose to reject the Madrid club
"I saw several Real Madrid players they were publishing things, you don't have to be very smart to know that the message is coming from above. These things are like that, I have nothing to say. Of course, when I go to play with the France National Team I will explain to Karim why I have stayed at PSG", was Kylian Mbappé's answer when consulted about the messages published on social media by several Real Madrid players, after he chose to renew his contract with the French club and reject los Merengues.
And after a long time, Karim Benzema broke the silence at Real Madrid's Media Day, before the final in Paris against Liverpool for the Champions League. The Frenchman spoke with Movistar and was consulted for Mbappé's words.
Benzema smiled with irony and then was direct in his response: "I have to say that we are going to play a Champions League final on Saturday, that this is not the time to talk about those little things. I prefer not to talk, I'm not angry. I just that it is more important to play a Champions League final and I am focused on that, I prefer to be involved in it and not listen to other things...".
Regarding the Champions League final, Benzema was complimentary of Liverpool's skill: "They are very good. They haven't changed much in these years. But in the end we have to look at our game. And if we do our thing, then whatever happens, happens. I'm confident. But in the end there's a lot of pressure when you play at this club and that's why there are magical nights. The fans are the ones who push us forward. Without them it's more difficult. And then luck, you need it, but it comes to you when you set out to try things. We're focused".
