The Belgian WONDERKID that Leeds United are DESPERATELY chasing
He was one of the sensations of Belgian football last season, and now Leeds are going all in for him
Everyone at Leeds United know they escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth last season. They also know that if they're to avoid a similiar situation the coming season they have to make the right signings, and are working on just one of those: Belgian star Charles De Ketelaere
At Elland Road, they know they have to work to improve the squad, particularly with the departure of Kalvin Philips to Manchester City and the potential departure of Raphinha, who's being chased by Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea.
With that in mind, they have completed a number of signings, most notable Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord, Brenden Aaronson from RB Salzburg and Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig. However, now they're are aiming to break their record signing figures going after Brugge's Charles De Ketelaere.
De Ketelaere, who's 21 years old, is also being chased by AC Milan, and was one of the breakthrough stars of last season in the Belgium league, scoring 18 goals and providing 10 assists across 49 matches in all competitions. The Belgian is a tall and lanky striker, perhaps similar to Patrick Bamford, with great ball control and very adaptable as he can play across several positions.
Leeds are reportedly bidding £32 million for the player, which would overcome their current record for most expensive signing, which was Rodrigo Moreno for £30 million in 2020. This would take their spending for the summer to over £120 million. However, Charles De Ketelaere is allegedly not as keen on the move as Leeds United are, as he would prefer the move to AC Milan, on account of the White's relegation troubles last season, so there may be another twist to this story yet.
