Will he stay or will he go? Bayern now open to selling Lewandowski
Robert Lewandowski could be leaving Bayern at the end of the season. The German club are now open to entertain an offer, with Barcelona as the main candidate
World football's most lethal striker might be on the move; Robert Lewandowski could be leaving Bayern at the end of the season. According to German newspaper Bild, the Polish striker is furious at the failure by the club from Munich to sign Erling Haaland and would now be looking for the next big step in his career
In the middle of rumours about the potential sacking of sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic, this missed step could be the end of the striker's time with the Bundesliga champions.
With this in mind, Bild reports Bayern are now open to entertain an offer of around 35 to 40 million euros for Lewandowski, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that the main interest comes from Barcelona, who would offer the striker a three-year deal. With just one year remaining on the Polish international's contract, the move might be inevitable.
Lewandowski arrived at Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 and has scored 343 goals in 374 matches played for the Bavarian giants. His departure would open possibilities for other players in the squad to shine, but would also require Bayern to sign a replacement striker, something often done at a premium price.
