"Don't Panic": Jamie Carragher WARNS Liverpool not to go overboard
The Anfield legend warned his former club not to go crazy with panic signings
Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp have built their success like a slow burning fire, not rushing to make many top flashy signings, but rather upping the tempo season by season. Three European finals, a sixth European crown and a return to English top flight glory have followed, so it's only logical that they're being asked not to switch plans, and by none other than Jamie Carragher.

There have been rumours that the Reds could advance their intentions to recruit Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham this summer as Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Thiago Alcantara's injuries have left the team weak in midfield. However, according to Jamie Carragher the Anfield side would be wise to exercise caution as they attempt to expand their middle of the park options.
"You think how long they waited for Virgil van Dijk, the deal fell through in the summer and they waited until January. They didn't go and get another centre-back because they did need one", the former Reds centreback told Sky Sports. "They waited for the guy that they wanted and it's proved very successful. I'm sure that's what they'll do in midfield. It's not the midfield that they've got, it's just the age profile is getting into the 30s".
"Most people would say Liverpool's midfield could be strengthened, they have enough numbers, but maybe in terms of quality or giving them something different that they don't have. I would only want Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp to get that midfielder if they get the player they want", Carragher added.
"Liverpool's success in the transfer market, a lot of it has been down to not panicking. That's what Liverpool can't do, what they haven't done in the past and what they can't do right now and what they shouldn't do in the future. If the midfield player that they want is not available, don't get him. But if there's a midfielder out there that they feel has the qualities that are available, I would like them to do it of course, but don't panic", closed down his argument Carragher.
On the matter, Jurgen Klopp recently spoke about the pressure on the club to sign new, while leaving the door slightly open: "No [we're not looking to buy], I can say that", Klopp insisted. "I don't think something will happen in midfield, but you never know. If somebody comes to you and says ‘I want to go...' Nobody came to me yet, but if that happens then we have to talk [about] new [players]".

"[Jude Bellingham]'s not on the market, so that's the first problem with that player. Well, the only problem with that player!", the German coach commented. It seems Liverpool are paying attention and be drawn into a bidding war unless they're certain that's the player they want, just like Jamie Carragher wants.
