Klopp answers criticisms after BAD start to the season: "We have problems"
The Liverpool manager was open about his team's early woes for the early season
Liverpool haven't had the best start to the season, and Jurgen Klopp knows it. Having picked up just two points out a potential six against theoretically weaker opposition in Fulham and Crystal Palace, many have been quick to point out the Reds' failings. Manchester United legend Roy Keane interviewed the Liverpool manager, and pondered on this start by the Reds: "Have you been sloppy? Am I allowed to say that?"
Keane's question is in response to a conversation they had two seasons ago. The Irishman called Liverpool "sloppy" after their 3-1 victory over Arsenal in September 2020, and Klopp didn't hold it well. "Did Mr. Keane say we had a sloppy performance tonight?" he questioned, "I'm not sure if I heard it right, but maybe he was speaking about another game as it can't be this game".
Now, however, the German manager agreed with the take from the former United captain. "I would love to say just because we are sloppy. Unfortunately we had other problems. Now we are here, let's go for it, I can't wait to be honest", explained Klopp.
"The team I like a lot", pointed out the German manager in regards to the players he has available for their clash with Manchester United, "We have good options to change, the rest is young and exciting. We are in a good shape. We are lucky we could play them in pre-season and you could see 100% what they wanted to do, the way they set up and the press. We expected the changes".
"We have problems but we have found solutions and hopefully they work tonight. It feels extremely important because it is the start of the season and we don't want to wait until October until we are 100% in. It is very important", expressed Klopp.
