Jurgen Klopp isn't losing his patience with Darwin Nuñez just yet. Nuñez has just one goal and one assist in four games for the Anfield side, but Klopp remains hopeful.

Back before the Premier League season started, many thought it would be the battle between Erling Haaland and Darwin Nuñez that would set the tone of another Manchester City v Liverpool duel for the league title. However, while the Norwegian looks set to complete a record-shattering season, the Uruguayan is yet to show why the Reds forked out £67 million for him.

However, Jurgen Klopp isn't losing his patience with the striker just yet. After Liverpool dropped two points at Anfield following a 3-3 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion, which adds to the Reds sketchy start to the season that has seen them pick up just 10 points from seven games, the German manager insisted that he isn't pulling the plug on the Darwin Nuñez issue just yet.

"New players come in and want them to shine immediately and that happens from time to time", explained Klopp, "We are completely calm. It's really important in our situation that he isn't worrying". The German manager also pointed out that Nuñez was expected to lose some game rhythm after he was forced out of the pitch following his red card incident in the game against Crystal Palace: "The three-game suspension didn't help him, that's clear. The team isn't flying and that doesn't help a striker".

Jurgen Klopp also analyzed Liverpool's start to the season, which has seen the Reds struggle to hit the stride: "We realised after Napoli it was a low point and we had to change things quickly. We didn't play Wolves, played Ajax, then didn't play Chelsea and couldn't keep up anything from the Ajax win. Then we played Brighton, a really good team and conceded two early goals". "When you spot a problem and think you have the solution and you expect the solution to be instant and influential, that's in football never the case", he then added.
