Antony transfer ON THE VERGE as he's spotted at Manchester United
The Ajax man is set to move to Old Trafford for a record fee, and all points towards the deal being confirmed sooner rather than later
Erik ten Hag's sixth summer will soon be announced by Manchester United, with Brazilian star Antony set to join the Red Devils. Now, prior to his £84 million bombshell deal, the Brazilian was seen for the first time entering United's training facility.
After having crucial conversations with Ajax executives on Friday, the Brazilian publicly declared his wish to leave the Dutch defending champions. As reported by UK newspaper The Mirror, the Brazilian had gone on strike at the Amsterdam club in an effort to force a transfer, following the rejection of a £80 million offer.
Now, footage gone viral on social media is showing Antony entering Manchester United's Carrington training facility through the main doors, as it appears that he's is about to go through his medical exams to fulfil his dream of joining the Red Devils.
"Since February of this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to inform Ajax of my desire to leave the club to face new challenge and that some interested clubs would arrive and with them, certainly a great offer," Antony explained recently. "During the window months, meetings continued and I also received a proposal from Ajax for contract renewal. I made it clear once again: I want to leave".
"I was very happy in Amsterdam, I won titles at Ajax, made friends and built part of my career, but now I reinforce that I am ready and full of motivation to follow my story and my dreams. People need to listen to me and understand that my motivation moves me towards happiness", added the Brazilian.
Following the record deal that will take him to the Premier League, with as much as £80 million guaranteed to go Ajax's way, it won't be long before Antony is announced by Manchester United, as he is anticipated to finish his physical without incident. However, the Brazilian is not anticipated to play in Thursday's game as he must acquire a UK work permit.
