It's hopeful days for Manchester United. While the departure of Paul Pogba has undoubtedly hurt some more than others, the overall feel-good about the new era under Erik Ten Hag has the Old Trafford club in a good mood... and things could yet get even better with this new signing.
While the Dutch coach has been adamant that Cristiano Ronaldo has a place in his plans, it's clear that he will be looking to bring the players he needs to build the side he wants. One of said signins could be very close to completion, and it's that of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nuñez.

According to their source, the deal is "extremely close" close to being done, with the Simeone led outfit as their main rivals.
Regardless of where Darwin Nuñez ends up, it's bound to be a costly move for any potential suitors, as it has been reported that Benfica want 80 million euros (68 million pounds) for their player. It's not, however, an unfunded demand. The Uruguayan finished the season with 34 goals in 41 games for the Portuguese outfit and is widely considered to be one of the top prospects in European football.
