"Anything can happen but he is not in a hurry": Lautaro Martinez' agent opens the door
The Argentine striker is in the minds of every top club, but he's not moving... for now
Lautaro Martinez is only thinking of Inter and the World Cup... at least for now. The Argentine, who was very close to joining FC Barcelona before the Covid 19 pandemic, has once again forced his name into the minds of the biggest sides in Europe. In that context, his agent spoke with media in Argentina, but the assured that the former Racing academy graduate isn't thinking about his future beyond Qatar 2022.
"He is in the top 10 of the players worldwide and although I have many calls, he has two priorities by the end of the year: Inter and the National Team", claimed Alejandro Camaño, Martinez's agent. "He is mature, with a beautiful family that accompanies him, with a climate of tranquility that is always important. He feels loved by Italians and Argentines".
According to Camaño, the Inter man is enjoying his season so far, and he's only thinking about what he can do with Argentina come November: "He started the year with a wonderful project: with an Inter that was put together in a powerful way. And the truth is that winning the World Cup would be the icing on the cake for him. Not only is Argentina a candidate, but those of us who know Lionel Scaloni know that he has that same leadership mentality that he had when he played. I haven't spoken for a while now, but I know him from his time in Spain, and he already had that leadership. Lautaro's illusion is the same as that of the rest. They want to make people happy. Winning a World Cup is not easy, but the team is ready to reach the final instances".
Regardless, the World Cup will come and go and unless a tragedy happens, interest in Martinez will remain. With the latest rumours pointing towards Bayern Munich's interest in the Argentine as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, the future is open according to Camaño: "In the future, anything can happen. Inter is not in the best moment, but it is a great team and a wonderful place. No one rules out that other clubs appear in the market strongly for him, but he is not in a hurry and lets football mark his steps".
For now, things with Lautaro Martinez, who has a contract with Inter until 2026, will remain as they are:"In the last market, there were chances for impressive figures and he understood that it was best not to change".
