Neymar Jr. is never all that far away from a controversy. Be it for his ocassional dives, his style of play or, lately, his potential move away from Paris Saint Germain, there's always something to talk about when it comes to the Brazilian star. The last of these controversies came from a former teammate, who accused him of losing some of his shine since joining PSG, and Neymar hasn't stayed quiet.

"I have to admit that I was a big fan of Neymar when he was at Barcelona. The remontada in the Champions League quarter-final (Barcelona 6-1 PSG) was completely him. If I was ten years old, I would have had a poster of him in my bedroom. From my point of view, in Paris, he lost his magic", were the words of Thomas Meunier during an interview with German newspaper Kicker. Meunier was with PSG from 2016 until 2020, and shared three seasons with Neymar at the Parisian club.

These words reached Neymar, who clearly wasn't happy to have yet another critic in a summer where he's been under constant pressure from the French press and his own club. The Brazilian took to Instagram, where he replied to one of the sources picking up the quote and simply replied in his native Portuguese: "Falador demais esse garoto". That could be translated as "that boy talks too much".

It has not been the first social media incident for Neymar this week, as he recently took to Twitter to answer back some of his critics when he was lambasted for allegedly diving during a friendly match in Japan. "I can't even contradict an article that's talking nonsense, [that they say] now I don't accept criticism. My friends, I've been criticized since I was 13 years old. I spent a lot of time silent, yes [but] if you say something I don't agree with, I'll say it again!", wrote Neymar in his social media, before closing with a rather decisive quote: "Every action provokes a reaction. Say what you want, listen to what you don't want".
