"Maybe he owes us a bottle of wine": Mourinho hilarious comment on Dybala
The Portuguese manager spoke about the Argentine forward's performances and time to crack some jokes
Jose Mourinho is a happy man. AS Roma are the leaders of Serie A after four matchweeks, with three wins and still undefeated. A big part of that has been the instant success of Paulo Dybala with the Giallorossi and the Portuguese manager was keen to point it out after their last match.
Mourinho was gleaming at the press conference he offered after the resounding 3-0 victory over Monza at the Stadio Olimpico in the Italian capital. "Maybe Scaloni owes us a bottle of wine to celebrate one more top player for him ahead of Qatar", Mourinho joked with the press. "He's not coming off an easy history in terms of injuries, but Paulo is getting better".
Dybala scored two goals during Roma's last match, and provided a commanding performance for the Giallorossi, when many agreed that he needed a strong showing to secure his spot in the Argentinian National Team, after being in the fringes for a long time.
Beyond the goals he has scored, which give him a crucial boost in confidence, Mourinho appreciated Dybala's ability to initiate play and link up with his teammates: "In his case, the talent is available to the team, it is not isolated from the rest of his teammates".
Paulo Dybala, who will be 29 in November, surely he wants to celebrate his birthday in Qatar during the World Cup's opening weekend. He has two more months under José Mourinho to captivate Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni and secure a spot in the team, but for now it's all smiles at Roma's Stadio Olimpico.
