Perisic's new deal: Still some distance between Inter and the Croatian star
It's been reported that the distance between the players' expectations and Inter's offer remain very big, while others point out he might've already signed a contract to move away from Inter
Football is football and things can change in the blink of an eye, but very few times moods actually swing as strongly as they have just done for Croatian star Ivan Perisic. His spectacular performance at the Coppa Italia final, scoring two goals against Juventus, has put him in the spotlight, and now the issue of his contract is in everyone's mind.
Now, journalist Marco Conterio from TuttoMercato is saying the distance between the players' expectations and Inter's offer remain very wide. "[Inter] offers €2.8 million plus important bonuses (with these the salary would reach 4 million 'to earn') for 2 years, [Perisic] requests €5 million for 3 years."
La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that the representantives of both parties will meet after Inter's match with Cagliari, on Sunday 15th of May. In the mean time, Sport Mediaset reports Perisic would have allegedly agreed on a deal with Chelsea to move to the Premier League with the London side.
Perisic, who was a World Cup finalist with Croatia in 2018, arrived at Inter in 2015 and has scored 52 goals in 254 matches. The 33 year old also spent a season on loan at Bayern after a fallout with then-Inter-coach Antonio Conte, where he won the 2020 Champions League.
