Is Poch making a return to the England? It would appear as much, as the Argentine is now linked with a move to Aston Villa. The Premier League season appears to have begun similarly to how it concluded the previous one for the Villans, filled with uncertainty on the pitch. With sack rumours closing in on Steven Gerrard, the Argentine seems to be leading candidate to take over.

Steven Gerrard's side accumulates five defeats in just ten Premier League games, and just two wins. While Aston Villa has denied reports that the former Rangers boss was sacked after their loss 2-0 to Chelsea, the writing is on the wall for Gerrard. In this context, it appears the return of Mauricio Pochettino to the Premier League is soon to come.

As disgruntle among the fans grows, Steven Gerard, who was booed in the last defeat against Graham Potter's Chelsea, will go through his most decisive week as coach of the Villans. A visit to Fulham and hosting Brentford in their next two Premier League games, if the Birmingham side can't win either of the two matches, the head coach's sacking seems to be a given.

Should the move happen, it would be Poch's third stint at the helm of an English club, following jobs at Southampton and, most famously, Tottenham, where he reached the 2019 Champions League final.
