GALTIER'S PETITION: The player the new PSG coach wants
PSG and their new Sporting Director Luis Campos are already working to improve their squad ahead of the announcement of their new head coach
Christophe Galtier is set to take over in Paris and will be the new coach of Paris Saint Germain, but he will not arrive alone. Luis Campos, the new Sporting Director of the club has already been working on the first signing of the Galtier era: Milan Skriniar.
The Slovak central defender has been one of the stars of Inter Milan since he arrived in 2017. At 27 years old, he became a fundamental pillar of the Nerazzurri's last line of defence. Last season, Skriniar played 48 games and scored 4 goals, starting almost every game for Simone Inzaghi's team.
Taking all this into account, Paris Saint Germain wants to sign him to have four top-level central defenders and to be able to add Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos and Kimpembe. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG reached an agreement with the footballer, who accepted his contract of 8 million euros per season and signing until 2027. On the other hand, PSG has already made a formal offer to Inter and the figure would be 60 million euros. However, the Italians rejected it, but they allow negotiations to continue although the figure required to sell it is 70 million euros.
The contract offered by PSG to Skriniar is better than the one he currently has at Inter Milan. The truth is that the defender would arrive at PSG to fight for a starting position, leaving Inter where he is indisputable and starts every game.
The controversy over Skriniar's numbers is made worse because in the period of a couple of weeks, PSG paid 40 million euros to Sporting Lisboa for the transfer of Nuno Mendes and now paid another 40 million euros for the signing of Vitinha, the midfielder who was in Porto.
Currently, the starting pair central in the defence was formed by Marquinhos and Kimpembe, although on many occasions PSG went out to defend with a back three to include Sergio Ramos. PSG's ace in the sleeve is that Inter Milan needs the money to get out of a deep financial crisis and close down the signing of Paulo Dybala and pay for Romelu Lukaku's arrival.
