Pulisic demands more playtime as Liverpool waits to make a move
The US star spoke with the American media and his potential suitors could be on the move soon
Christian Pulisic is apparently unhappy. The 23-year-old winger was not a crucial player for Thomas Tuchel; he was a starter in just 13 games out of 38, dropping far in the order of the German manager's consideration, as he competes for a position with Mason Mount and Timo Werner in the attacking left side of the pitch, two players who had more minutes on the field than the American.
Currently on international duty, as the United States Men's National Team prepares for the World Cup, the former Borussia Dortmund player spoke with American media amid the rumors: "As far as right now, I'm obviously just focused on what I'm doing here. Of course, I want to get more playing time. I want to be on the field as much as I can and be the sharpest I can be and fit as well"
Then he admitted wanting to be "regular at club level" to put himself in the "best position to be fit" when coming to the national team, as with the Stamford Bridge side he was subbed in from the bench on eleven opportunities, only two times less than the matches he was a starter, scoring 8 goals.
Pulisic's lack of playtime in London could be used as an advantage by Liverpool, who showed interest in the winger in order to replace Sadio Mane, after the Senegalese told Klopp about his intention to leave Anfield.
The Reds' intention to sign the youngster is real but it will not easy as the player has a market value of 45 million pounds, 15 million less than the investment The Blues made on Pulisic back in 2019 when they paid Dortmund 60 million Euros.
