A predictions expert announced who he thinks will win the World Cup this year
Who will win the 2022 Qatar World Cup? Everyone wants to know, from the players to the fans to the companies who sponsor the game, and this man says he's got the answer: It will be Lionel Messi who will lift the third World Cup trophy for Argentina in Qatar. But how does he know?
He's not a FIFA insider or a "visionary" animal like octopus Paul, but a stock broker called Joachim Klemen. He's written a formula that combined the strength of the teams with socio-economic variables, including GDP, which can affect the performance of the various national teams. This mathematical system also that takes into account a multitude of other aspects like the weather, the form the players arrive in and the history of the tournament. His method is not without results. He succesfully predicted both the triumph of Germany in Brazil 2014 and that of France in Russia 2018.

According to Klemen, who works for Liberum Capital, Argentina will beat England in the final after eliminating Spain in the semifinals. Of course, a percentage of error must always be maintained and Klemen jokes about it: "Since I have been involved in financial services, I have learned how to find excuses if I miss some predictions. If I take it it's skill, if I'm wrong it's someone else's fault".
Joachim Klemen insists that it will be Lionel Messi and Argentina who return to World Cop glory after 36 years. The Albicelentes have so far won two World Cups, one at home in 1978 and the other in 1986 in Mexico, the latter famous for Diego Armando Maradona's goals against England in the quarterfinals, one often called the "hand of god", while the other is usually referred to as the goal of the century.
