ANOTHER MISS? Real Madrid may fail to sign another big target
The kings of Europe may miss on yet another target
You'd think that winning the UEFA Champions League a record 14th time, as well as your home league, as well as enjoying one of the best legacies in the history of the sport would be enough for Real Madrid to attract any signings they want.
However, it's increasingly looking like that's not the case. First Mbappé was added to a increasing list of top talents that refuse the Merengue club, and now it seems like some of their fall back plans are rejecting them too.
That's because according to Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna, the player that was called upon to become Real Madrid's record signing this window may be moving somewhere else. Such is the case of Rafael Leao, who according to the journalist could be close to sealing a move to Manchester City.
While it seems unlikely that City could need any more firepower, with the additions of Erling Haaland and Argentine wonderkid Julian Álvarez, according the Santi Aouna they are already in conversations with the player's agent, none other than super agent Jorge Mendes. Leao, who scored 14 goals and gave 12 assists in 42 games for AC Milan, would be another dangerous piece for City to add, and the 22-year-old would surely improve under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola.
With Real Madrid's offer of 120 million euros reportedly "not enough" for AC Milan, who want the full 150 million of Leao's release clause and City boasting pretty much unlimited funds, it could very much be the case that Real Madrid misses out not just on one of their targets, but also on the plan B. Surely a new experience for los Blancos and their president Florentino Pérez.
