Gareth Bale didn't feel at home at Real Madrid, and he won't hesitate to let anyone know that. It sounds like a strange thing to say for a player that won nearly everything that there was to be won at the Merengue club, but that is how it was. Now, distanced from the Spanish capital and enjoying his time with Los Angeles FC in the MLS, Bale spoke about the differences.

After his contract with the Spanish giants expired, the Welsh forward joined the MLS team on a free transfer in June. His goal was to play regularly to stay in shape for the winter World Cup in Qatar, the first the British nation will play since 1958. However, Bale has also enjoyed his time away from Madrid, and he expressed his gratitude to the "amazing" supporters of his new team for making him feel at home, in sharp contrast to los Blancos supporters, with whom he never quite connected.

"Definitely feels nice [to feel wanted again], the fans have been really supportive over there, they've been really patient as well which is good", expressed Bale, "I'm enjoying playing, the atmosphere is incredible, they're all supporting the team".

The Welsh star has 2 goals in 11 games with Los Angeles FC, and he credits the fans for having supported him from day one: "I can't ask for any more than that. They've made me feel at home straight away. So it's good vibes from the MLS and hopefully that gives me more confidence going into Wales as well".

It's a stark comparison to his last seasons at Real Madrid, where he was often acused by the fans of not caring enough about the club, as the incident with the "Wales-Golf-Madrid" flag showed, and it's something that Bale is happy to leave behind.

"The family are now settled in which is a big part. I'm getting stronger and fitter. Now we have an important stretch of games in the MLS, but after that I can turn my attention to the World Cup and hopefully be in the best shape I possibly can", explained Gareth Bale.
