TOTAL AGREEMENT closer as Lewandowski might FINALLY gets his wish
The Polish striker could be getting his desired move after months of negotiations
The story of Robert Lewandowski's desired move to Barcelona has been the story of this summer transfer window. It has had it all: a thrilling war of words, multiple locations, outside comentators giving their take, and even rumours of strike. Now however, things are entering the key stages.
As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants are submitting a new offer for Lewandowski, and all parties are in direct contact now to work out a deal that suits them all. While Lewandowski has eased out on the public statements, reports claim he's continued to push Bayern Munich for a quick resolution of his situation.
The feeling on every side is optimism, with The Athletic's David Ornstein claiming things are "moving towards agreement between clubs", and that the deal is "not done yet but heading in that direction at present"
While Barcelona has been far from the sole suitor that Lewandowski has had since declaring his intentions to move, it has always been his favoured destination, and personal terms have been agreed between player and club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, other potential suitors like Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain have been informed that there's "never been any chance" as Lewandowski only had eyes for a Barcelona move. Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel spoke on the matter recently: "I don't think we have a chance to sign Lewa but if there is, he is one of the best number nines". "I think, right now, there is not the first priority to get another big striker in", Tuchel said.
Robert Lewandowski has scored 344 goals in 375 games for Bayern Munich, since joining in 2014 from Borussia Dortmund. Back in May he made clear he thought this was the end of the line for him and the Bavarian giants: "My story with Bayern has come to an end, I cannot imagine further good cooperation".
