DENIED: Barcelona WON'T make another offer for Lewandowski
Bayern's last refusal could be the last we hear on the matter for now
It's a huge blow for Robert Lewandowski. While the war of words between the Polish striker and Bayern Munich representatives carries on, at the negotiations table things don't seem to be moving quite as smoothly.
Just this week, a former Bayern president stated that Barça shouldn't "even bother" pressing the matter with Lewandowski, and now the results are proving him right. The Bavarian club rejected Barcelona's third offer for Lewandowski, reportedly worth 40 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses, and negotiation's have since stalled.
According to German newspaper Bild, Barcelona won't consider making a fourth and improved bid for now. While the Catalan club will be receiving 207 million euros by selling 10% of La Liga TV rights, the money is reportedly going elsewhere, with the most likely recipient being Brazilian Raphinha, who has personal terms with the club agreed for a long time, but with Barcelona failing to meet the demands of owner club Leeds United.
With Lewandowski set for a return to Bayern's training camp later this month, tensions could be at an all time high following reports that other members of the dressing room were growing tired of the Pole's comments in the press. On the other hand, there are reports that Lewandowski could go on a strike, refusing to play or train at Bayern any longer.
Robert Lewandowski has scored 344 goals with Bayern Munich since joining the club in 2014. He's played for the club a total of 375 times, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB Pokal and the Champions League in 2019-20.
