PAYBACK? Chelsea could soon swoop in for Robert Lewandowski
The Polish striker is determined to move to Barcelona, but what if they can't afford it?
Is there anything worse than working on a project for a long time only for someone to swoop in at the last minute and steal it? Well, rest assured it happens in the world of football like everywhere else, but two can play the game, as FC Barcelona and Robert Lewandowski are finding out.
With news coming up in the past few days that right when Chelsea thought they had Jules Koundé all tied up, Barcelona are likely to take over the deal and sign the Sevilla defender, the Blues now have some chance for payback.
That's because with Romelu Lukaku set to leave on loan for Inter very soon, the side led by Thomas Tuchel are looking for a replacement and the German coach wants no one other than Barça's top transfer target, Robert Lewandowski.
According to UK newspaper The Sun, Chelsea are planning an offer to swoop in an convince the Polish striker that London is the place to be. So far Lewandowski looked convinced that he wanted to join the Blaugranas, but with financial difficulties complicating the deal, it could be that he ends up in a blue Chelsea uniform.
The vultures are round the Lewandowski deal as Barcelona scraps to put an offer good enough to convince Bayern Munich to forgo the last real remaining in the Pole's deal, with PSG also following every detail very closely.
