German LEGEND gives his take on Lewandoski's LEGACY at Bayern Munich
One of the best German players ever expressed his feelings on how the Polish striker will be remembered
Things got ugly between Bayern Munich and Robert Lewandowski, and nobody can doubt that. Constant fighting in the press, tensions at the dressing room and the constant back and forth are bound to have damaged the Polish striker's legacy at the Bavarian giants. However, according to one legend from German football, it won't be permanent.
Robert Lewandowski left Bayern Munich as a Bundesliga winner, but how will he be remembered?
Jürgen Klinsmann is a name you can't help but associate with German football of the 1980s and 1990s. Klinsi played for many historied club during his career, including Bayern Munich, where he scored 48 goals in 84 matches between 1995 and 1997, winning an UEFA Cup and the Bundesliga in 1996-97. Naturally, he was asked about the Lewandowski saga during an interview for online media Goal, and his answer was clear.
"Lewandowski is an absolutely world class player who has done so much for Bayern Munich and has won so many titles and trophies... we have to thank him and wish him luck in what will probably be the last chapter of his career", replied Klinsmann, making unquestionable the fact that Robert Lewandowski will remain a Bayern legend, despite his troubled exit from the club.
Despite others expressing some doubts as to how Bayern Munich will manage next season without their talismanic striker, in the eyes of Jurgen Klinsmann everything will work out.

In that way, the 1990 World Cup winner with West Germany assured the Bavarian giants ended up making a good thing out of a bad situation with their work in the transfer market: "I find it very positive the way they ended up solving it, they got a very decent transfer window and obviously they already moved in the market because Mane and other talents have come. De Ligt or Gravenberch are good examples. It's fine even if you would like to see [Lewandowski] play in the Bundesliga".
